Certain parts of the tri-state area got more than seven inches of rain yesterday and today is another dreary day, so I thought it just made sense to take a look at Forbes Magazine's list of "America's 20 Most Miserable Cities" (article here, slide show here) (h/t PropertyProfBlog). Fortunately, no New York or New Jersey cities made the list, which is dominated by California cities with a sprinkling of Florida locales.
(Just an aside, but when I viewed the slide show, an advertisement urging me to live and work in Roanoke, Virginia kept appearing underneath the blurb about the miserable cities. I am no marketing genius, but why would you want the name of your city so prominently featured under a story about the country's most miserable cities?)
